When Calls The Heart: Show Overview

When Calls The Heart first aired on TV in the U.S. on January 11, 2014 on the Hallmark Channel. The show is nothing but good, family programming that is somehow quite addictive, starring Lori Louhglin, Erin Krakow, and Daniel Lissing. Currently the show is running it’s 3rd season.

When Calls The Heart  is a fun clean show that anybody could enjoy and appreciate. The show centers around two main characters in a small mining town in the old wild west. You have Elizabeth Thatcher, a high society lady, come to teach the kids of Coal Valley. You have Jack, a rugged, handsome mounted officer, known to the towns people as Constable Thornton.

Take a lady, Thatcher, who is having to learn to live away from home and the comforts of “modern” living, a Mounty who wants nothing more than to catch criminals in a big up and coming city, not stuck in a small, sleepy town where nothing ever happens, and a town full of people who have just gone through a terrible tragedy and you get one great story!

The show is centered around life lessons, from learning how to handle life on your own, understanding the meaning of friendships, loyalty, trust and many other issues that arise when dealing with life.

This show may bring to mind, mushy-gushy, since I said it was a Hallmark show and you might be right about that. However, between the mush you find yourself drawn in to each and every character, the town, and the lives of the people who live there. You hang onto every word and when each episode is done you can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Sundays 9/8c

You won’t find any foul mouths, vulgarity, obscene displays of gore, explicit scenes, or anything of the kind. When Calls The Heart has everything you could want: Friends, enemies, community, family, danger, heroes, victims, and maybe even a romance or two… or three or… This show is definitely something to let yourself be lost in. You can expect a good story, told in a beautiful way while still making every second as gripping as any modern show you’d see on TV today.

In the next few days look for reviews for When Calls The Heart, Season 3, episode 1 and 2, and then an episode review following that every Sunday for Season 3!

I will also being doing episode reviews for Fuller House. The whole first season can be viewed on Netflix.

I love to read, watch tv, write, play sports, listen to music. I'm pretty much an average person. I have an insanely large family, but I love them all. I started this blog to get me back into the habit of writing everyday which I stopped doing for many different reasons. I do try to live up to what I tell people and what I project into the world. I can't promise to be interesting, funny, or, yes, even creative, but here we go anyway.
